Supporting the Foundation

Thank you for considering a gift to help support LAS. We have a very bold and exciting vision for the future much of which can only be achieved with outside financial support. We hope that you will want to share in this vision and feel part of our ongoing success. Your support will help make a difference to the lives of current and future LAS students.

There are several ways in which you can help.

Making an Annual Gift

The 2010 Annual Fund invites all members of the LAS community to make a contribution to help a range of smaller projects including support for our scholarship fund so we can provide places for talented and deserving students who may otherwise not be able to benefit from an LAS education. The most common donations are outright gifts, such as cash or a check, which can have an immediate impact.

For US taxpayers, the LAS Educational Fund for the Future is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which enables donors to claim a tax deduction on their gifts and still support LAS in a real and tangible way.

Specific Gifts

Families and friends of LAS who are inclined to make a specific gift for a particular major development project are encouraged to contact Ian McLean, Director of Development at imclean@las.ch.

Bequests

Naturally some people want to retain their assets for the present to be sure they can meet their family’s future financial needs. Gifts to the School by bequest through one’s Will are an effective means of support. It is important that your family’s financial security is secured first.

These 'planned' gifts can be revocable so that you can change your mind at any time or they can be irrevocable so that you benefit from an immediate income tax deduction.

The attraction of irrevocable planned gifts is that they are deferred. You part with an asset today but the actual giving of the asset to LAS is deferred, often until after your lifetime (and that of a surviving beneficiary, if you wish). During that time you receive benefits from the gift.

Gifts in kind, corporate matching gifts and donations of stocks and shares are other very effective ways of supporting LAS. Your contribution in any way will be greatly appreciated.
