The Foundation

The Foundation for the Advancement of International Education is an independent charity overseen by the Swiss federal government whose activities are coordinated through the LAS Office for Development and Alumni Relations.

The Foundation is a tax-exempt, charitable corporation dedicated to making a positive contribution to the greater Leysin American School community. The Foundation grants scholarships and financial assistance to deserving students, funds other beneficial projects for the school and publishes the regular Alumni magazine 'Panorama'.

With the new Belle Époque development there are many exciting possibilities that will greatly enhance what we can offer current and future LAS students.

The recent LAS Renewable Energy Project was funded by the Swiss Federal Foundation 'Centime Climatique', Leysin American School and the Foundation to enable the school to introduce solar energy for hot water production in residence halls. It has served to reduce carbon-monoxide emissions and has incorporated the technology as a teaching tool for students.
